Princess Party???

Yep! Max was invited over to Victoria's Princess Party complete with pink, pink and more pink! We dressed him up in some knight's armour and he fit right in. Loved playing in Victoria's castle and then found some other knights and they promptly found Thomas the Train. Cinderella came by for a visit with games, balloons, bubbles and face painting. Max of course sat down and asked for Lightning McQueen - to which Cinderella giggled and said she would try. He was happy with it.

Max wrote his name!

I'm making him work on his letter recognition and trying to get him to write his name. These were his attempts today.

Hatching a dinosaur

Max got some "hatch a dino" kits for Christmas. They took a few days but I managed to get pictures of them on their journey. It's been fun to watch them.

Turning 4 Ain't Easy

Max had his 4 year old check-up today. Rough day! He had an "off" day at school and just barely scraped by with his "good choices clips". Mrs. Fionda told me she only let him have what he needed for the treat because he was her special helper this week. He had to end his school day with an apology to Mrs. Fionda for making "loud choices" in class today. After that, I had to take him for his check-up which turned into a 2 hour process of hearing tests, vision tests, etc. (which he passed with flying colors) but the icing on the cake was the 4 shots he got today (2 more shots next week!). He passed out in the car on the way home and didn't want to get up for his Wii game even!

Dentist Check-Up

Max had his second dentist appointment of his life today. They took x-rays and did a normal cleaning. He has no cavities and was added to the "No Cavity Club"! On a funny note, while getting his x-rays (I had to sit in a completely different area) and I hear him over all the drills, machinery, etc. ask they lady "Will this machine take out my teeth like Bradley's?" To which she asked him, "Who is Bradley?" He say's "My brother and he's missing his teeth." Hahahahaha...I had to laugh.

Cupcakes & Icing!

Max is the special helper in his class today. As luck would have it, it's also his birthday week so he gets extra attention. He got to bring something from home today for show & tell (he took Henry from Thomas the Train - although it's not his prized toy this week...go figure) and is responsible for providing the snacks for everyone on Tuesday and Thursday this week. The letter of the week is "M" so today I took up Monkey cupcakes and for Thursday we are making Marshmellow Muffins. The whole class sang to him and then scarfed down some icing and cake. My hat goes off to Mrs. Fionda. She is like the preschool whisperer. All of them sat on their little circles until it was time to take a class picture and the she called them one by one to stand in a certain spot and they all did exactly as they were told. Their manners are exceptional during her class and I just can't believe she can control them all. My blood pressure goes up just walking in the room!

Max's Birthday Party

We had Max's birthday party at his swim school yesterday. He had a great time swimming around and visiting with his school, Jazzercise and MOPS friends. I was so thankful for everyone that was able to make it out yesterday. The weather was yucky, cold and rainy. But, it was warm and toasty inside the pool! Todd made a video this year for Max of everyone making a silly face (see our picture above). We hope to add that soon.

Birthday party preparations are underway!

Max has been asking for a "water cake" a/k/a "swimming pool cake". So, after much research and diliberating amongst other cake makers, I've decided to embark on this adventure for him. Of course, I must top the Lighting McQueen cake from last year!

I started off the day making my own fondant (which was the meessiest project I've ever done) but much cheaper than buying it pre-made. I tried to take pictures of that process but you have to work quick and I just couldn't get the goo off my hands to take enough pictures!

Max got home from school and "helped" me make the cakes - chocolate and banilla (vanilla). I'll work on the decorating tomorrow after they have chilled. Stay tuned...

Bike Riding Fun

We took Max to the park today to get him on his bike. He is going to "earn" some Wii time by doing something physical everyday. Today was chose his bike. He also climbed on some dinosaurs and played in the dirt.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks. We are still in our jammies on this Sunday morning relaxing and playing with Max. Max had a great Christmas. Got way too many toys but he's finding ways to be creative with all of them. Among his new prized possessions are Stinky the Garbage Truck, his new pillow Pet (which he has named Bob) and his 2 new costumes (Batman and Spiderman). Here's a few pictures. We are relaxing this last day of the Christmas break, gearing up for swim lessons, school and the anticipated 4th birthday in just 2 weeks! Here's to a healthy, happy 2011! Happy New Year to everyone!
