Gingerbread Take 2!
Max was invited to a friend's house on Saturday to make another gingerbread house. This time we used a milk carton and graham crackers. Again, more candy in the mouth than on the house but he had fun decorating and "hanging with the guys".
Winter Wonderland
Friday night our clubhouse hosted a Winter Wonderland complete with train, slide, snow, cupcakes and Santa! The snow turned out to be a soapy mess so we steered clear and immediately Max hit the big slide. He did that over and over until he was too cold and wanted to get a cupcake. After the icing was gone from the cupcake, we headed to ride the train and then back into sit with Santa. He actually walked right up to him and climbed in his lap. He never did tell Santa what he wanted much to Santa's dismay, but hopefully Santa will bring him SOMETHING he wants. It was much too cold and windy to stand out there for very long but I think he had a nice time.

Christmas Party
This morning was Max's Christmas Party at school. For $10, HEB made and constructed the coolest gingerbread houses and had all the icing, candy, coconut (yes, I said coconut and believe me, I took one for the team by messing with that nasty stuff!) Anyway, Max had an absolute blast this morning. I think he was happier that I was focused on him and not running around as "homeroom mom" this time. He would stick a piece on and then eat a piece. He sat across from his best little friend in school Carter. I'm sure Mrs. Fionda has to separate those two periodically. We had a great morning!

Jinglebell 5K Run/Walk
We pulled ourselves out of our warm toasty beds this morning at 6:00 a.m. and headed back down to The Domain for the annual Jinglebell 5K run/walk with the Homburgs. Todd, Dale and Gavin ran it while Erin walked their dog Gus and I pulled a 40 pound kid in a 10 pound wagon! It was freezing cold but the kids seemed to have fun anyway. We promptly headed to Z-Tejas for brunch and coffee.
Christmas at The Domain
The Homburg's came with us last night to The Domain to see the lights, Santa and eat supper. )We attempted to see Santa but the line was too long. Santa will be in our neighborhood next week so we will do it then.)
The boys had fun running around the courtyard, eating their Miso soup and sushi. We topped the night off with a fireworks show above Macy's. A little chilly but the kids had a good time. We got to eat some sushi and drink some sake ourselves so all was good. We are doing the Jinglebell 5k this morning so I'll post pictures on that this afternoon.

Christmas Program
Last night was Max's Christmas Program at school. After a long day at school, followed up by a long night at an event, he was quite pooped when he got home finally last night around 8:30. His class sang, This Little Light of Mine, Away in a Manger, did a Christmas poem and another couple of songs. He did fine on the first song but then discovered his shoelace was untied and that turned into his main focus. He still participated in the motions of the songs but he sat down on the riser behind another little girl. So, we didn't see much of Max after that. Still, the kids did an awesome job!
Wassail Fest
Last week went to Wassail Fest in New Braunfels with Papaw Curtis and Grandma Lynette. Wassail is a hot cider. We started our evening at MacAddo's with some yummy seafood. Max met a friend out in the courtyard and spent the entire meal running around and jumping on the music stage. After supper we headed down to the shops to taste some wassail and shopping. Unfortunately there were a gazillion people there so we only had a small sip of wassail, checked out the train depot and then retreated to the car for a stop for ice cream at Dairy Queen. By the end of that stop, he was covered hair to chin!
Thanksgiving
We spent Thanksgiving in New Braunfels and went camping. Thanksgiving was really hot. I didn't plan for what to dress Max in so he ended up running around without a shirt for most of the day. It felt really great when the cold front rolled through. Pictured also is my mother singing her well known Thanksgiving classic. The "Moo Cow Song". It was super cold camping but Max had a great time. Unfortunately, my camera battery died and I didn't have the charger so there are no pictures of us camping this time.

Thanksgiving Feast
Today Max's class celebrated Thanksgiving with a feast! I tried to get a copy of the feast and post here but apparently I'm not savvy enough so it's listed below this entry. Anyway, they made little costumes, necklaces and hats and made the sweetest hot pad holder with their hand prints on them into a turkey. He is pictured here with Payton and Carter - his two friends at school.

Blue Bell Creamery
Max and I met Todd's sister Lori in Brenham today for an outing. We stopped at the Blue Bell Creamery, took the tour and topped our afternoon off with a cup of ice cream! Max talked about chocolate all through the drive there and all during the tour so of course he had his cup of chocolate ice cream. There were no cameras allowed during the tour so we couldn't take any until we were through but we learned a lot about ice cream. Country Vanilla is still the number 1 seller at Blue Bell and it's the ONLY flavor produced every single day. Today there were making mint chocolate chip and some wonderfully yummy flavor (that I only looked at) that had vanilla, fudge and chocolate peanut butter chips in...oh I was Jonesing for a bite but steered clear and stuck with the no-sugar added chocolate. Still tasty...It was a fun day! Thanks Aunt Lori!!
