Scrap Camp and Sickness

Last week I was gearing up for scapbook camp but Max came down with a nasty little stomach bug that left us closed up indoors for 3 days. I was lucky enough to still get to scrap camp this past weekend (super fun and very productive) but both Todd and I ended up catching whatever Max had. I wasn't nearly as productive as I could have been this weekend but my hat is off to Todd for sticking it out and not calling in a "grandma" to come help him out. We are all on the mend I think and ready to start next week. Stay tuned...

Snowman Take 2

Daddy is clearly much better at making snowmen that mommy. He did use part of my snow "pile" however to assist him. :)

SNOWING IN TEXAS????

Really, it's snowing in Texas!!! We woke up to an icy mix but by 7:00 a.m. we had HUGE snowflakes collecting on the ground. I clearly don't know how to make a snowman but I get an A for effort. I just got done teaching a Jazzercise class this morning with a ton of leg work only to come home and do about a zillion more squats collecting icy snow to help Max make a 3 foot snow-pole - it was the best we could do. He said it was "too cold to play outside" so we are snuggling up now with cocoa and movies. I'll blog a bit and then finish getting ready for my scrap camp this weekend.

Sad Elmo....

Well, the $10 Elmo balloon which was supposed to last forever didn't quite hold up to the ceiling fan in our bedroom...when Max wakes up from a nap, it's going to be tragic!

Camping

After Sesame Street Live on Friday, we headed out camping and just made it back in this afternoon. We are all tired and yucky. To the showers and then a nap! Here are some cute little fish pictures from yesterday afternoon.

Sesame Street Live

On Friday Max and I met Victoria and her mommy Brenda to see Sesame Street Live. We started our adventure with a yummy breakfast at Kerby Lane Cafe and then made the trek to the Erwin Center. Max was a trouper! I had to park a little bit away from the auditorium but he trooped it with me through the rainy morning to see Elmo and all of Elmo's friends. He and Victoria seemed to really enjoy the show. They both would get up and dance in the aisle and of course they shared some popcorn and a few "no's" but it was so fun watching the show with the two of them. The $10 balloon's came out at intermission so of course we had to have two of those. But, Brenda promises the balloon lasts for several months so I'm sure we will get our money's worth.

Dinosaurs

So today I busted out Max's treasure trove of dinosaur goodies from our friend's Trisha, Dave and Will. He was so overwhelmed from Christmas and his birthday I had to hold some stuff back. Inside the box of goodies was an awesome interactive dinosaur book/DVD, puzzles, carrying case with dinosaurs, magnets, a game and his absolute favorite was the "dinosaur mud" as he called it. It was a minature dinosaur fossil in some type of puddy. He had so much fun digging that out of the "mud". The best part is the puddy goes back to normal and you can re-bury it for another day. We then sat down and watched the DVD while following along in the book. Not sure I can pronounce half of the dino names in the book but he didn't care.

On Friday we are going to see Sesame Street Live with his little friend Victoria and her mom. Every morning he wakes up asking "Is today Victoria and Elmo?"

We are going camping this weekend with his new blow-up bed and Cars sleeping bags. He's so excited he can hardly wait for that as well.

Life is good.

Potty Time

Max is about 99.9% potty trained. This afternoon he asked for a book.

Farmin' Fun

We spent part of the day at Nana Margaret's house to celebrate Grandma Markay's birthday. Max and Bradley played on the tire swing and got to play in the trailer making their "garden".

Valenfun Day!

We had a great time this morning playing with friends and making our Valentine Day crafts. Max just focused on the cookies and candy but he sat still long enough for me to get his hand print on his card. I made heart shaped PB&J sandwhiches for the kiddos and strawberry milkshakes. I'm sure they are all as wired as Max is at the moment. He is fighting a nap.

Seems like a good day for swimming...

Well, here we are right before swim class in our rainboots, swimsuit, pajama top and holding on to our "Mater" car and doughnuts, all set to head into swim class. He seemed eager to go this morning and then...he flipped on his 3 year old tantrum charm and all hell broke lose! We ended up kicking our swim teacher in the face and mommy, didn't follow any directions Ms. Ashleigh was giving and was so disruptive to his other swimming buddies. I gave him the choice to leave or stay and he chose to act out so I made the choice for him. I wrangled this slippery screaming precious little boy into a towel, hauled him into the bathroom where he proceeded to kick and scream at me (at this point, we both have snot flowing down both of our faces), only got him into his underwear and out to the car where he made a huge scene in front of the entire parking lot. Needless to say, by the time the entire 20 minute event was over, he managed to lose his TV privileges for the rest of the day, all of his Cars toys and no doughnuts this morning! He then tells me later "That's fine mama. I'll just play with my trains today." Ugggggggggggggg
