Simon Kidgits

While I enjoyed a few hours "off duty" this morning at my MOPS meeting (which was an awesome meeting this morning!!!), Max got to meet his new teachers and new friends in the Moppetts program. He learned about Jacob's Ladder today and did GREAT at duck-duck-goose. He had a great time this morning. We headed over to the mall to sign up for their kids program. It's a $5 annual fee and we get special invites to free events at the mall that only the members get. The first one is a free movie next week and then Boo Bash in October. He'll get to decorate pumpkins and all sorts of stuff. I'm looking forward to taking him to some of this stuff. Plus, it only cost us $5 bucks!

After we played on the indoor playscape area, he wanted to ride the train and since he had another AWESOME week at school, he and I took the train ride around the mall. He LOVED it!!! He is pretty tired this afternoon. He almost fell asleep on the way home. I'm now digging out the Halloween decorations.

Haven't posted in a while...

There has been way too much excitement lately to have kept up with Max's blog. Between a quick trip to Napa Valley with our friends to break-in's and snake bites, we can't seem to catch up!

Max is doing great at preschool. Comes home every Tuesday or Thursday with a new song and a new spanish word. This week was "por favor" (or "parla falvor") and "gracias" (or I can't even type what he's trying to say). But he also busted out with uno, dose, tres, quatro cinco and nailed those. He talks mainly of his friend "Peyton" and her new dresses but mentions a Carter and Ryder too. I'm homeroom mom and am having our first "moms" meeting tomorrow so hopefully I can put some names to faces. We get pages with the letters of the week to work on either tracing or gluing cheerios and beans too. We tried our letter A today and while most of the cheerios ended up in his belly, he really did a great job showing me his new skills.

He's usually way past tired by bedtime now and last night was super meltdown time as we took an early evening stroll around the block. We are sticking to our guns and following through with our decisions regardless of how terrible the moment is when he does meltdown - which thankfully isn't all that often.

Letter of the Week - A

Max is the line leader this week at school. He got to bring home Hopper the class mascot (it's a froggy backpack and stuffed frog). He did manage to rip the head of the frog off before we even got out of the school parking lot but Grandma Markay was kind enough to fix it for us this weekend. Max is responsible for helping Mrs. Fionda with special projects this week as well as leading the line in class. He also has to bring snacks this week for everyone that start with the letter A. We took applesauce this morning and are making letter A sugar cookies tomorrow. He is doing so well with preschool. Has learned several new songs, knows lots of things that start with the letter A and is working well with his classmates. I hear a lot about a "Payton" but I have yet to meet this little girl. Max is quite fond of her and tells me all the time that she was wearing a 'new dress today'. Hmmmm....he made ant anteanea's today in class.

The Oasis

We had brunch on Sunday at the Oasis. I should have taken pictures from our deck but didn't think about it. However, Max found 2 statue football players that he just loved so I took these pictures instead. He said he was "playing football" like these guys.

Gavin's 6th Birthday

This weekend we helped Gavin (our neighbor) celebrate his 6th birthday. He had a Lego Birthday Party at Main Event. Erin (his mom) and I made his Lego birthday cake. Max had a great time playing mini-glow-in-the-dark golf (well, he walked around with his club and ball) and then got to play some video games and ride a few little virtual rides. He was wiped out by bedtime.
